Ecuador to Peru

We are currently in Ecuador and planning to come back in the fall to start residency process. However, we would like to take 4 to 6 weeks somewhere before we go back to Canada for the summer. We are late 60s and like warm/hot weather, We speak very little bad Spanish but have no trouble in our village in Ecuador, we are working to improve. Any suggestions for a warm expat friendly area in Peru?
