Long Term Stay Visa Requirements

Hello Expats,
I'm and American who recently moved to Bucharest. I am living with my fiancé. I work from home consulting clients in America and so I am not needing a work permit at the moment. My question is what visa do I need in order to stay in Romania "legally?" Or do I even need to get one since I'm not doing business in this country?
