Spare some advice...

Hi all, I am interested in returning to Spain to teach english. This past summer I was studying spanish in sevilla for 3 months. Since returning to NY I feel it will take forever to be fluent in spanish. But, I sincerely would like to return to spain and stay a longer time abroad. Could anyone advise me how difficult it is for an american to find work. I would take an online tefl course since most language schools insist upon it. There seems to be this endless "red tape" and I wanted to gleam some insight from those who are already in spain or anyone who can relate to my situation. I wished I was smarter when I was in my early 20s to do this, but, I guess its never to late, just alittle more scarier when your older. Many thanks for your time.
