Where do we begin?

20 years ago

My husband and I want to move to Spain within the next year or so. Other than the Costa del Sol we do not have a great deal of knowledge of other areas. We would like to live somewhere where it is still fairly Spanish (but with expat facilities too!), where the property prices are not sky high, where there are no British Lager Louts and where the crime rate (burglary in particular) is not too high. Are we asking too much? Are there still places like this in Spain? We intend to rent first to make sure we are doing the right thing. Is this a good idea?
