Self Employed / Spanish Franchise

Hi There!
Currently working on buying into a Spanish service franchise in Spain. Looking for advise from anyone with experience or info on the Pros & Cons of such an undertaking by US Citizen.
Planning on living in Spain this spring for three months to pick best area, for biz and lifestyle - suggestions welcome. Some place between Girona and Gibraltar but not so touristy. Language not a problem.
