Gift for host family?

I'm a college student who will be studying in Seville next semester.

I'll be living with a family there and would like to bring them a small gift from the US when I arrive.

I was wondering what might be an appropriate thing to bring. I'm from Maine, which is known for maple syrup and blueberries. Would a Spanish family have any use for maple syrup? I considered bringing blueberry wine but it isn't great by my standards so I assume it will seem pretty bad by Andalusian standards.

Any thoughts?
