moving to spain

My boyfriend and I are considering a move to Spain next year and would like some feedback as to transitioning from USA to there. He is Spanish speaking and I am not. He is a registered dentist in El Salvador but cannot practice in USA without their creditials. Would it be easier there? Is it easy to find a room to rent from someone before finding permanent residence? What about work in customer service? I have no degree but have worked in healthcare as medical secretary, etc and also food service, retail....would love some feedback....thanks!
