Hi we have finally gotten our ducks in a row and are heading to Spain for 3 - 4 months. We plan on being in the Marbella area and possibly buy an apartment if a deal presents itself. We do wish to travel around a bit and see more of the area and will need transportation. The cheapest quote I received from a car hire company was about $3500. My miserly mind thinks maybe buying a car there for our trip and if we end up buying a place great, if not sell it off quickly just before we leave. What I need to learn is what the cost of purchase tax, insurance etc, is and can a foreigner buy and insure a car without a lot of hassle?
We have not secured a place yet but will be working on this shortly. Any suggestions on furnished apartments for 2-4 months would also be a help. Thank you in advance.
