Advice for Spain move!!

Hi all, my wife and I are seriously interested in a move to Spain. We are in Scotland at the moment and are researching things now. Our main concern is me finding work. My wife is a school teacher and so have read that finding teaching jobs at international schools shouldn't be a nightmare but I am a firefighter (16 years) and qualified carpet fitter (of absolutely no use in Spain!!!) and so am concerned about what kind of work will be available to me.

My godfather has a small apartment in Cala finestrat and we absolutely love it there and so would ideally be looking at somewhere around the Costa Del sol area. We are not desperate to live beside the beach (as realise this comes with a premium) but would need a villa with our own pool (why move to Spain and not have your own pool!!)

Any advice you can me regarding the cost of renting this type of villa and what work availability there is would be really appreciate.

Mandy thanks

Andi & Lisa.
