Study Visa

Hello: we are planning on moving to Spain in a year or so. Our intent is to spend much of the first year in either Madrid or Salamanca. We plan to enroll in an intensive Spanish course, full time 5 days per week. Can anyone tell me whether such a course would qualify us for the student visa? I have found nothing definitive, It seems to me that, if you commit to such a program, and pay the tuition, it would qualify as acceptable coursework for the visa.
