train travel to and around Granada

Hello, My wife and I are coming to explore Granada and the area for relocation this July, and we have a question about transport. I looked on Eurorail's site for trains from Madrid to Granada and it said there were none (possible one with connection?). I found a site called Renfe that lists trains that take about 4 hours. So...
1 - Is there a way to serach Eurorail better (so as to see connections)?
2 - Is Renfe an ok site to use?
3. - Any other suggestions on finding rail schedules/booking tickets?
4 - We also want to check out Malaga and Almeria during our stay and assumed we could catch bus/trains to there. Any suggestions?
