Citizen or Visa

Good afternoon I have the opportunity to become a Spanish citizen if I introduce the paperwork by October 1st.
I was wondering if tax wise it would be better to do that or just to get my non profit Visa as a retiree.
Any advise on this that you can provide will be appreciated.
