Is it possible to continue being a surgeon in Spain?

My husband is a total joint surgeon. While we plan to retire in Girona in 2026, he would love to continue practicing surgery or enjoy a teaching position. I'm not sure this is possible. I understand the mastery of catalan is a must and we are both starting our lessons soon. Any insignt or contacts you may have to this end is greatly appreciated!
