Spain NL Visa Interview moratorium

It looks like the Spanish Consulate (at least in DC) has temporarily suspended interview appointments for the NLV visa. We have been unable to get one for the last 2 weeks (as of 10/19/2024), they (BLS Intl) are saying no appointments are available. Has anybody else had any luck getting an appointment, or have any insight about this roadblock to the Spanish NLV? Thank you
