Living in Colombo

Hi,
I am a pharmaceutical professional and getting a good offer to move to Colombo with my family (wife and two sons, std-7 and std-3). Would anybody please advice me to a suitable place for me. One suggested me is Colombo-8 area is good, he lives in a apartment cost 200,000 SR. I was also thinking a buy an apartment with 3 years installments and also thinking about to invest in Colombo stock exchange. Roughly, I got an idea like living cost is not more than $3000 per month. Schools for my kids will be an issue, I don't know for good English medium school and cost. Got an idea like income tax @ 24% ! I don't know the government has got any bar to transfer my money in US Dollar to my home country ? Please advice -
