Sean and Jess - Sri Lanka semi retire

Hi everyone,
My name is Sean (55) and my partner Jessica (50) and I are based in Australia. We're planning to semi-retire in Sri Lanka within the next year or so. “Semi” meaning we may stay for 2 years or possibly longer, depending on how things unfold. We’re doing some reconnaissance work to better understand the realities of migrating and settling in Sri Lanka, and I’d love to hear from fellow expats who’ve gone through similar journeys.
