Labour rights

My wife a Swiss national,has a 50% job.
This month,her employee gave her 20%,the rest of the hours they were not busy and just sent her home.
Surely that is not allowed.
I know there is a labour court
But what is the procedure.
My step son says I could never win and cost a fortune in lawyers?
Can someone please help?
