Question on Kigoma !!

Hi everybody,

I'm probably going to work in Kigoma as of in a few months' time.

Given that I will take along my wife and kid, I would like to know if anyone's got some sort of background info regarding the general security situation in Kigoma City?

And, directly linked with that: what's the general housing situation for expats like, i.e. do expats tend to live in locked-up compounds or is it reasonably safe to live in a "normal" house or apt. building?
