Need Furniture in January

My husband and I are both Notre Dame graduate students. We are moving to Kampala in January for a year of research and will be looking to buy furniture on a student budget. Any advice on where to find reasonably priced used or new things, including appliances like a refrigerator and oven? Thank you!
