I’ve used the Dubai Trade Calculator before, but it’s very basic and doesn’t handle unpaid leave or partial years well. Free zone rules (like JAFZA or DMCC) are complex with the 2025 UAE labor law updates, so I need a better tool.
Has anyone found a reliable way to calculate gratuity for free zone jobs? I came across a free calculator at https://gratuitycalculator-uae.org/free-zone-gratuity-cal/ that follows UAE Labour Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021) and seems to account for unpaid leave and partial years better than Dubai Trade’s. It’s not an official MoHRE tool, but it’s useful for quick estimates. Do you use similar tools, or do you rely on HR or MoHRE? Any tips for factoring in unpaid leave correctly?
