Hi everyone,
One of the trickiest parts of living abroad is dealing with home renovations or construction when you don't know local prices or practices. Costs can climb fast if you don't have a good plan from the start hidden fees and surprises are everywhere.
What helped me most was doing a proper construction takeoff before starting. Having a clear list of materials and labor made budgeting a lot less stressful and cut down on last-minute shocks.
Plenty of people here on Expat Exchange have probably faced the same thing. If you've renovated or built overseas, did planning up front make a difference for you? Or did you try another method that worked better?
Would love to hear your real-world tips could be a huge help for others trying to manage renovation costs while living abroad.
