Weather: Whitehouse experiences a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round, though the region is subject to hurricane season from June through November and receives significant rainfall during the wet months.

Whitehouse is a small coastal settlement in Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica, situated along the Caribbean Sea in the island's western reaches. Unlike the more developed tourist hubs of Montego Bay or Negril to the east, Whitehouse maintains a quieter, more authentically Jamaican character—a working fishing village where the rhythm of daily life centers on the sea rather than resort infrastructure. The town serves as a gateway to some of Jamaica's most remote and undeveloped coastline, with dramatic limestone cliffs rising from turquoise waters and black sand beaches that see far fewer visitors than their famous counterparts. Local fishing boats dot the harbor, and the community retains strong ties to traditional maritime culture. The landscape around Whitehouse is rugged and dramatic, with the terrain sloping steeply toward the water and vegetation clinging to rocky outcrops. For travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path Jamaica experience—one defined by genuine local interaction rather than curated tourism—Whitehouse offers an unvarnished glimpse of coastal Caribbean life. The town's remoteness has preserved its character, though infrastructure and services remain basic compared to major resort areas.
