"Hi, everyone! Could please someone give me insights on bringing furniture/belongings and a used car into Portugal (shipping everything out of the NY area)? The website of the Portuguese Consulate in Newark, NJ, has a tab dedicated to vehicles which leads me to believe that car importation is more or less widely practiced. Does it (or either of it) make sense financially and bureaucratically (especially in terms of the car made in Europe for the US market when it's registered/inspected in Portugal)? I have a nice 2011 AUDI with low mileage that I'd loathe to part with. I'd love to hear from anyone who might have had experience with bringing anything like that over the Atlantic to Portugal.
