"Hello, I've been a medic for 29 years in the USA and I have worked long term assignments in various places around the world but never as an Expat. I've recently been contacted about taking a position in Qatar working in a Refugee camp and I have been contemplating the idea. I'm all for the year or more of living there as an Expat but came here looking for guidance and advice from people who have "been there and done that!" My family and pets are not so keen on me leaving and that has to be considered before I make my decision. I am a 54 year old male so the laws and customs in Qatar are a bit easier for me to adapt to than for women as far as I can see." - Emtprch
