How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

The students are driven by a parent, or 'driver', or they can contract with a school bus.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

The school facilities are adequate, although the classrooms are small for the current student count of 18 - 20 per class. (The classrooms were acceptable in size, when there were 10 - 12 students per class.) The desks, school supplies, and classroom boards are OK, but should be better in quality. The playgounds are small, but covered for shade!

The library is good, as are the computers.

There are many after school activities for the girls. They do enjoy these activities! Sports are offered, too!

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

When the school opened, the Superintendent was American, and she was well-qualified! The school employed US teachers and did an excellent job preparing each girl in the American Educational System.

At the present time, there is a Canadian woman, (former Curriculum staffer), along with various less qualified principals are employed by the owners. Due to this, many of the quality teachers/American teachers have left the school. One must keep in mind that the student population has been a blessing.....all girls in Kuwait!

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

The school has allowed a parent organization for the mothers. It does help, but keep in mind these mothers were hand picked. The parents have ample opportunity to meet with the teachers, both in school functions, and after school.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

I would insist upon speaking to an American principal...one who resides, was educated and was employed at a school in the United States. I would insist that my daughter was placed in an American teacher's classroom!! I would make sure the textbooks are United States textbooks in every subject!

With a quality teacher and quality subject materials......well, the girls are wonderful, so your daughter(s) will enjoy their time at AAG!
