Hand made poncho or ruanas?

The few ponchos for youth 4-10 years of age I've seen here in Santa Marta look to be all machine made. Any suggestions on where to find some that are hand made? I'm heading to Cartegena next. Should I look in cities at a higher elevation since the are for colder climates? When I was here in 1975 I bought a wonderful ruana in Peru made from alpaca. I wish I still had that one.
