I recently moved to Cuenca and am having a really hard time finding AA meetings in general and English speaking meetings in particular.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

My wife Jan and I are both members of the fellowship. We arrived Sept 14 and traveled the coast. We are now in Bahia de Caraquez and found an NA group holding open meetings and allowing us drunks to attend. We also found another english speaking alcoholic living here and have been holding our own small group meetings. The AA website was not much help in Manabi along the coast, but in Cuenca maybe so. The contact info is:
Azuay
Contacto: Comité de Área de A.A. No. 18
Dirección: Av. de las Américas y Ricardo Darquea (esq.)
Teléfono: 593 07 4094132
Casilla: 4922
Correo: azuay_18@aae.org.ec
The web address is www.aae.org.ec

If you find a place where gringos hang out you might try posting a notice like "Friends of Bill W. call Rob at ......."

good luck and stay sober.

Warren and Jan.

I have seen several in Cuenca. There is one right in old town... unfortunately I cannot recall the street right now. Also there is one on Avenida Loja and Primero de Mayo. I do not know about the English part. You may have to seek out other Friends of Bill and have your own meeting. I do know of one such person. Would you be agreeable to me letting them know your contact info?

Hello all!

Just want to let everyone know there is a friendly AA meeting group in the Libertad Area near Salinas -- and while they do not have an English group yet they are very welcoming to any of our guests who have wanted to attend meetings and the books are identical so you can follow along. Also, coffee and cake after at the Paseo (El Shopping) Mall is sorta tradition too!

Our contact is a gentleman names Solomon who had been a member for over 14 years and is the liaison for the area to the Guayaquil main office.

Contact me and I will get you in touch with Solomon and through him you can get in touch with the Ecuador offic of AA International for any literaturre you might require and help setting up meetings (it just takes 2)

Be well!

Two more meeting locations in Cuenca I found just walking around:

- Grupo Nuevo Amanecer
Between San Blas Iglesia and Su Farmacia on Calle Manuel Vega y Simon Bolivar
Lunes, Miercoles Y Viernes a 8:00 p.m.

- Grupo Hacia La Luz
14-52 Calle General Torres y Rafael Maria Arizaga
No meeting days or times on the sign, but a guy on the street told me Lunes y Jueves a 7:00 p.m.

Good luck, there are probably lots more, just get out hiking. I will report these to the main Ecuador AA website so maybe some day the info will be online
