Thinking about retiring

I just realized I can retire abroad and live a nice life without worrying about how long my retirement fund will last. I feel like a thousand pound weight lifted off my shoulders! I'm also really excited about living and learning about a different culture, and spending more time with my wife and daughter. After looking around for a couple of weeks, Equador is high on my list of possibilities. I'm just needing to convince my wife now! She is not as adventurous an flexible as I am. I know she does not like hot humid weather, so that is one reason I'm focusing on Equador. I know it will be challenging, not like an extended vacation, but I really am excited by the whole idea! It is making it very hard to focus on work (I have not retired YET).
