Hi, I was hoping some of you may be able to advise me:

I sponsor a kid in Ecuador but recently there has been some financial scandal surrounding the church involved in supplying the support to the kids and their families. On top of monthly support I occasionally send a gift for birthdays and Christmas. The charity is a bit slow to respond, but the idea is I get feedback as to how the money was spent. This time around, I gave £75 (around $105) and the list of what was purchased is as follows:

1 Clock
3 pairs of socks
2 pairs of canvas shoes
2 Shirts
2 Pants
2 Bermuda shorts
1 Portfolio
1 set of sheets
1 ream of paper
1 Pair of sandals

(see pic)

Sure, one could spend £75 on a single pair of shoes. however, being careful where I shopped in the UK I could reasonably buy all this for £75 with change. but then again I do not imagine the cost of living is the same in Ecuador. Should I be concerned, or is this reasonable?
