Biggest challenge in relocating

Anyone have any challenges they are willing to share (either in leaving the US or challenges upon arrival) that would help me avoid confusion in relocating or potential cultural differences I should be aware of and avoid? I wish to arrive in Ecuador with the lens of becoming part of the culture,

Ive read as much as I can and have watched as many videos that are available on YouTube of expats in Ecuador. I’m aware of things such as the need to dress nice in restaurants and the fact that most households don’t have dishwashers. Anything else that would be important to know?

Lastly, It seems many expats are co-located. Has anyone bought land or moved to areas with less expats? If so, any words of wisdom?
