Quito crime

I was just robbed for the 4th time in Quito. I had planned to retire here in Equador, even bought a nice condo north of Quito, but no more.
The police take a report...then nothing.
Ecuador's president is allowing Venezulian criminals to immagrate with no background check, and most with no skills turn to theft...and worse.
This was admitted to me by an English speaking police detective.
I'm selling.
I'll try Portugal or Spain.
