I have done extensive research on the requirements for bringing dogs to Ecuador. At times the information has been contradicting. Some of the information available is fairly dated and I'm just hoping that someone might have some insights about recently arriving to Ecuador with pets.
The certification requirements for the United States apparently are required but often not checked on arrival. I plan to make sure that I have all of the required certifications so as to avoid any potential problems. It seems that there is a physical inspection that is required upon arrival and requesting that inspection is best done by notifying the department a few days in advance of arrival. My concern is that the flight that I plan to arrive on does not arrive until almost 7:00 p.m. at night on a Friday. I'm hoping that it will be no problem to have the inspection done at that time, but I'm concerned that there might not be anybody available and the communication to let me know that in advance might not be that reliable. So, I'm concerned that I could arrive and somebody might not be available until Monday and I'm not exactly sure of what would happen with the dogs in that scenario.
