Retiring to Ecuador and Medicare

Can anyone share their experiences and choices that they have faced when retiring while on Medicare?
Both my husband and I are on currently on medicare and hope to relocate to Eucador when he retires, hopefully in about 2 years.
He has a low to medium need of healthcare and I on the other hand, have a higher need of care but mostly management from specialists.
Equipment that I own and travel with and will bring might be an issue for me if I don't stay on medicare.
However, I am unsure of what happens when we move in regards to medicare.
