Customs payment for courier parcel without a cedula??

Hi All,

I hope someone can help me with some advice on a frustrating situation. I decided to get some parcels of things bought online (from the UK) sent to a hotel in Quito where I was staying. I put down the name of a staff member there. The parcels are now both with customs and I need to pay the duties to release them. Fine. The problem is that I need to register an account to pay the duties and I cannot register an account with my passport: the website only seems to accept an Ecuador cedula. Is there any way around this?? I was hoping to leave Quito this week but now I might have to stay here until I can get these parcels. It's a lovely city but I need to keep travelling!

Do you think it might be possible to do the payment at a postal/customs office in person?

Thanks,

S
