My fiancé is currently in the Metropolitano Hospital in Quito. He is in his 60’s and was working in Quito. While there, was diagnosed with Covid and admitted to the hospital.
It was discovered that the Covid vaccine he had given him heart issues and surgery was required.
So far, $8,000 has been paid toward his growing medical bill as hospital won’t release him until bill is paid in full (over $45,000).
I have no access to his bank account, and he has stated if bill not paid, Immigration may put him in jail for non-payment.
How can this matter be resolved? He can pay, but has to return to USA to get his money to wire back to hospital. Is there a mediator that can help resolve this issue? Thank you.
