Location - Any suggestions?

I’m hoping to find a house that’s peaceful and secluded, ideally with some land, but still close enough to a village with a shop, a doctor and a post office — the essentials of country living. I’d also like to be within about an hour of either Bergerac or Bordeaux airports, as I love to travel.

I’m interested in meeting fellow expats (not just Brits!), but I’d prefer to be part of the local community rather than living somewhere that’s overwhelmingly foreign.

Can anyone suggest areas in the Dordogne or nearby that might fit the bill?
