First Aid Training

I have recently moved to Glyfada, Athens, one of my concerns is the apparent low standard of emergency care, in particular the time it takes for an ambulance to be on the scene.
I thought a quick fix for this situation would be a spot of first aid training to individuals especially like me who are still very new to the country and the Greek language.
Anyone know of any courses going?
