First Guerrilla Gardening Event to be Held on October 9th at 11 AM
The Keramikos-Mataxourgeio Exemplary District seeks volunteers to help clear land and to plant vegetation on vacant land parcels for neighborhood beautification purposes. Our goal is to clear and to make use of all vacant plots in a way that will improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
The meeting point will be the corner of Lassonos and Leonnatou at 11 am (please call to verify time). There are three abandoned lots where the planting will take place. Anyone who would like to help can bring dirt (soil), shovel, garbage bags and gloves.
Some plants will be donated by Andrew Clements (local plants indigenous to Greece), however, anyone who wishes to may bring his own plants. Some plant types we recommend include: geraniums, armparorizes, kallistimon, richosperma, pachyfylla, hibiscus, gazi, acacias. Best are plants that do not need much water and that grow easily.
The first planting event will take place on October 9, 2010. Anyone interested in participating, either as an owner of empty land or as a volunteer gardener, is requested to call 69.558.04.992 and visit the websites listed below.
