Hello all!!
I'm currently living in the U.S.
I am considering moving to Greece.
I have an ancestral connection,
I love the warm weather, friendly people, great food and believe that Greece makes sense. I have yet to visit Greece, crazy I know.
I had been in the restaurant for most of my working life and have slowly taken myself out of working life with a few tidbits to keep me in America.
I am looking for a gentle affordable lifestyle that includes culture, the arts, the beach and new friends and adventure!

Greece is part of our USA exit plan. We are from Colorado so we are looking for an area to relocate that won’t cook us alive. We love the water but we are happy to be in the hills. We appreciate your advice and feedback.

American who is getting close to having lived 50% of his life abroad. I've lived in Paris, Hamburg, Vienna, NYC, Seattle (back when it was cool), Hawaii, Guam and elsewhere.

Works remotely and still travels. Exploring a permanent(?) move to Greece in 2024.

I am the daughter of a Greek immigrant from Alexandria, Egypt, and a Creole New Orlean. My father's roots are in Corfu and Paxos. I am thinking to buy property in one of those two places to help facilitate family gatherings, and to help me escape NYC (at least half time) in my retirement. I hope to learn more about this process, pitfalls and positives, through this forum.

Hi there, my hubby is retiring from the US Navy in two years. We are wanting to move to Crete at that time with a golden visa property. We are thinking of getting a property there this year though possibly. We are going to most likely take a trip there for a week in May to get a feel for the island. He may try to get Civilian work at the Navy Base so we would look for something in driving distance of that. We would like to find somewhere that overlooks the ocean rather than inland but be around other expats to become part of a community. I am an artist my husband is part of the nuke and swo community. We would really like to live where it is high above the ocean for the great views but definitely want to be close to community so if the two don't go hand in hand then we would more than likely choose community over location.

I am a woman with 2 cats and am retiring soon, within the next year or two hopefully. I am looking for somewhere affordable, safe, and that is easy to get around since I do not want to buy a car. I was thinking about Crete because I heard that is a great place to live.

Hi
I’m spending a few months this year living in Kavala alone, out of high season, and would love to get advice on any groups or activities where I could meet people and make new friends.

We are currently living in Espoo, Finland. When our eldest daughter finishes high school (that is, three years from now), we plan to move to Kalamata, Greece. My wife and I will travel to Kalamata soon, and we are very much looking forward to it!

My name is Jack, I'm 73 years old, on my own and have had a desire to move to Crete for a long time. My interests run from Bible study, to sports, to food. I am looking to spend the rest of my days in peace and solitude. I understand there is a fairly good-sized Ex Pat community around Chania Crete so that would be the area I am most interested in at the start of my journey.

Hi! I’m going to use a different name here. You can call me Kiana.
I’m considering moving abroad - to Europe. Greece is a strong possibility because it’s beautiful and I have family there but am not decided on what country yet. I’d like to explore the options. Maybe a home base there and travel throughout Europe.
Just looking for a better lifestyle! I’m in my 50’s and WAY over due for change, good change! I like to make informed decisions and because of that, I often wait too long making them! All of your experience will help me in the process ?
Thanks in advance!

Hello

I can retire in April. I have spent several holidays on various islands. Just having a browse the other day, I think I was looking at Rhodes and noticed some 2-bed brick-built houses from 67,000 euros. The trouble is, I can't remember where they were. I reckon they are at the top of the island. Any help would be appreciated. thank you
