I have some friends who wish to move to Goa, India, we have some questions that you might be able to answer.
1 They plan to travel out on a six months visa and obtain a residency visa whilst there, however to do this they have to sell their house. Can they send their furniture and other household belongings straight out or will they have to put it into storage for the first six months?
2 When do they have to apply for the residency visa, is it before the six months are up or after the six months and where do they apply?
3 Is there any books or literature that clearly shows the process visa etc as they have had a lot of info which is contradictory or just misleading.
4 My friends will be hopefully travelling out in November to Goa for two weeks, is there any local organisation or individual locally in the area who could be contacted?
We have been told about a five year tourist visa, what does this entail. Does this mean that they have the visa valid for five years but can still only spend six months a year in Goa?
My friends also have an idea for a business opportunity in Goa. However the literature for a business visa states that a letter will be required from their company. As they will be self employed they cannot supply this has anyone any ideas.
This is a stab in the dark but any help at all that can be given will be really appreciated.
Regards Ges
