PHONE CALLING

Post New Topic

In addition to banking, I have some questions about making phone calls...

I have a Samsung Note 5 and have been with T-Mobile for 20 years. When the time comes to get my phone unlocked, what happens then? How would I then make phone calls in transit AND is there any way to keep the same phone number?

I'm sure there are questions I don't know to ask so feel free to tell me anything that could be helpful.

Thanks!

I'm just curious, have you ever actually been to Mexico?

Check with T mobile. I think their plan allows free calling to and from US-Canada-Mexico. I live in Sonora state and T Mobile is the 'go to' phone provider if keeping a US phone. Mexican phone service is cheap but inferior to US plans. You can just buy a Mexican sim card or buy a Mexican phone. Most buy a sim card and use their existing phone.

ATT premium plan covers Canada, US and Mexico. Very reasonable. Unlimited talk and text with a 15 gig mobile hotspot.

I'm not sure about T-Mobile, but AT&T allows me to call the US / México / Canada for free. T-Mobile may be the same.

If not WhatsApp is your friend! This is a great tool for free worldwide communication.

Hi, Fredonia,

Yes... I've been 2 or 3 times on vacation. I do understand that actually living there is nothing like being on vacation. Since I can't afford to go on a scouting trip, I am having to ask a LOT of questions. Why do you ask?

Hi, he,

In what way are the Mexican providers inferior? Reception? What you get for the money?

I am VERY happy to hear what you shared about T-Mobile. I thought there were exorbitant costs involved (like cost per minute).

Thanks!

Thanks! I hope T-Mobile is not too expensive...I've been a loyal customer for years.
