Hi, I'm Canadian and have been using BDO for the past 12 years. While banking in the Philippines does not compare with Canadian banks my experience has been satisfactory and probably the best you can find there. Overall it does seem at times that the banks see themselves as a privilege for letting you bank with them rather than a privilege of having you as a customer. This is my personal opinion and not necessarily reflective of the entire system.
