eSIM - Pros & Cons

Interested in hearing from anyone who has used an eSIM while in the Philippines especially those living in a remote province. I am looking into a plan that offers calling in addition to data and text. I would appreciate anyone sharing their experiences regarding the pros and cons. At the end of the day, I may very well go with a physical sim. Right now, I am just looking at different options.
