Want to move ASAP

I am an American citizen from Arizona. I am currently attending Arizona State University, but intend to move to Stockholm before finishing my degree.
I am moving to be with my girlfriend, a Swedish citizen currently living in Stockholm.
She is employed and has her own place, so our position is such that I can move at a moment's notice, but I would prefer to be employed and live there legally.
What is the fastest and most assured way to accomplish this? Consider that we can go though the process as either "engaged" or as "partners."
Also, although I would prefer to have a job lined up, I am willing to go there without one as long as I am legally allowed to find work.
