American wanting to move to Sweden

I am a 29yr old American from NY. I work at a large hospital in NYC as an engineer/mechanic so I do have work skills. I have done some research about residency in Sweden and almost everything I have read says I need a work permit before entering the country, this is fine but I am curious about the work demand and especially being a foreigner. I am good at mechanically operating buildings but am willing to take any job if thats the case. I am just seeking out whatever advise/opinions anybody may have. Thank you.
