Moving to London: Renting & Roommates

Hi,

I'm planning to move to London for 2-3 months to see if I want to permanently reside there. I've visited London on a couple of occasions.

I'm looking for recommendations and suggestions on how I should go about finding affordable apartments to rent or where to find people who need roommates for 2-3 months.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially the affordable and safe neighborhoods to live in.
