Hello future neighbors,
After visiting your wonderful country in October 2019 I have decided to expatriate. Can anyone post a reliable Uruguay website with accurate updates on the pandemic situation there?
Thank you,
D-MAN

Hola D-Man,
The official health agency is a good resource for virus info at:
https://www.gub.uy/sistema-nacional-emergencias/comunicacion/comunicados/informe-situacion-relacion-coronavirus-covid-19-uruguay-del-13052020.
Don't read Spanish? No prob. Use Google's Chrome browser as it will translate webpages into English.
I suppose you could load a Uruguayan newspaper onto Chrome to get more details. I haven't been doing that because I'm heading home soon. I have totally enjoyed my three-month trial stay in Montevideo to see how I would do as a permanent expat.
Best of luck as you embark on your adventure!

No incoming flights, the occasional outbound to Sao Paolo we here about.
Safer here than most anywhere else particularly outside of Montevideo, no shortages , and restrictions keeping you inside as many places have..

Thank you Morell. One note is Rivera which is on a very porous border with Livremento, BR. Aduanas cannot stop folks from Brazil from crossing the border into Rivera. Aduana is located 10 kms south of Rivera and the army is stopping everyone to check ID and if you are not from UY, you have to go back to Rivera. And they are spraying tires with bleach. Why? No one knows. But Rivera is precarious because of the porous border.
