My 10 year old son and I will be relocating to Uruguay to try it out for a year, see how it works for us. I hope it's a forever move. If all goes well, he'll be attending a school in the Maldonado Department, inland from La Barra, Manantiales, Jose Ignacio, etc. The school year starts in February which is still part of the high summer season, and the vacation rents are crazy for January/February. Any feedback on how to find an annual rental in that area - something that is heated - would be greatly appreciated!
