If you have settled in Costa Rica and hold a Pensionado Visa, then you know the issues of getting one. I would prefer to not hire an attorney because of the difficulties of which I have read regarding some of them. Also, as you probably know, the cost of using an attorney can be quite high, and, as I have read, it can go up for no particular reason. If anyone knows of someone (a native would be best) who could help me navigate through the process and act as a translator, I would be most appreciative to contact that person. I have read that some people will do this for no charge or a small charge, which I would be happy to pay. I would be glad to use an attorney who is well referenced, as long as there would be a contract between attorney and client and a flat fee established. Knowing that receiving the visa could take quite a long time, I would like to begin the process as soon as possible. When I come to San Jose, I will have all the needed documents, which will be certified and stamped by the appropriate apostilles. When I am there I will use a state approved translator for all documents, as well as having the completed application, etc. I am aware of all costs for this whole process, and, of course, my research has been quite extensive. Once all documentation has been submitted then what seems to be a very long waiting process will begin until I hopefully will receive the visa. If I were to receive it then I would return to Costa Rica to have my finger prints taken, etc. Have I missed anything? Please let me know if anyone can help me. I would be quite happy to take someone out for a nice meal in thanks for the help. Thanks in advance for any help I might receive.
