Renting a car in London – advice needed

Hi! I'm planning to stay in London for a couple of months and considering renting a car instead of buying. Can anyone share advice on how practical it is to rent long-term in the city? Are there any rental companies you’d recommend for expats? And what should I be aware of in terms of insurance, congestion charges, or parking?
